Vintage Black Church Hats - Etsy。A sleek, noir spin on the classic cloche. Hand-woven black straw ribbon is shaped into a six-inch crown, then finished with a wide grosgrain band and flat bow. The airy lattice weave up top feels light on the head, while the tighter basket weave at the brim lets you flip it up for a jaunty 1950s profile or nudge it down for quiet film-noir drama. This hat comes from the estate of a Michigan socialite named Nancy. The short, up-turned brim with a deep 6\" crown matches the “Breton”/“church cloche” silhouette, which peaked 1958-64, popularized by Dior and then by Jacqueline Kennedy’s State-visit wardrobe. Pair it with a trench and red lip for instant “city detective” vibes, or soften it with a linen sundress and espadrilles for garden-party evenings.
