It involves hand-weaving thin strips of leather to create a rich, durable, and seamless pattern on products like handbags, which are often the most iconic examples of the craft. The Intrecciato technique Method: The process involves interlacing long, thin strips of leather into a basket weave pattern, or more complicated diamond shapes. Origin: It was developed by Bottega Veneta in the 1960s as a way to work with supple leather without relying on visible seams, which was an alternative to the sewing machines of the time. Craftsmanship: The technique is passed down through generations of artisans, with the brand maintaining a school to train new master weavers. Intrecciato and Bottega Veneta Signature style: Intrecciato is Bottega Veneta\'s signature mark of luxury, representing a commitment to quality craftsmanship and a design aesthetic that prioritizes the material over prominent logos.
